Last Saturday, February 22nd, I participated, together with NTT DATA colleagues, in the DANA volunteer program. An unforgettable experience in which we helped rebuild the homes of many families affected by the DANA in Valencia.
Together we brought light to dark moments in the lives of these families.

It's 4 a.m., the alarm clocks are ringing and a day full of emotions awaits us. More than 50 NTT DATA colleagues get up to set off for the Valencia Trade Fair. Our objective is none other than to carry out inventory tasks, call center support, review of material, assembly of goods, preparation and distribution of orders... Tasks that are very necessary right now in the lives of many families who have lost everything.

A few months ago, a large number of families from different towns saw everything they had managed to obtain throughout their lives washed away, as if they were small boats in the middle of a rough ocean. Families who have lost furniture, photos, memories, a place to live today. Together we have organized ourselves to dedicate this day to give them the strength they need. We have given them a little push that will allow them to reach the top of the slope that life has put in front of them. In doing so, we hope to make the hard road they are facing more pleasant for them.

I am convinced that we have left an indelible mark in the lives of these families, a mark that none of my colleagues and I will ever forget. On this day we have sown hope in hearts that have lost everything. It is heartbreaking to hear their stories and very gratifying to see their eyes light up as they feel supported. Helping others is a gift we also give ourselves. It is giving strength to move forward; and, its impact, along with that of generosity, is infinite.

I cannot miss the opportunity to encourage everyone to sign up for these volunteer programs.

Today it is for them, tomorrow it could be for us.
