Three teams, the Spanish ‘4 Girls 4 Ever’ with their APP ‘CleanAPP’, the Italian ‘EcoLogic Girls’ with their app ‘Ease Way’ and ‘Maite Zaccheo’ with their app ‘Offline’ have earned a place in the Technovation Girls world semi-finals.

The Italian seniors ‘Ecologic Girls’ presented their app ‘Ease Way’ designed to help wheelchair users find obstacle-free routes, while the junior ‘Maite Zaccheo’, has developed an ‘Offline’ app to help teenagers overcome their addiction to social networks. For their part, in the youngest category of the edition, from 8 to 12 years old, the Spanish beginners, ‘4 Girls 4 ever’ presented a solution with ‘Clean APP’ where, through a game, they teach young people to recycle.

Between 18 and 25 May, the 31 NTT DATA EMEAL teams made up of 111 girls and 31 mentors from the company in Italy, Portugal and Spain also presented their projects at the regional finals of the international technology education programme.

This year, NTT DATA Spain managed to form 11 teams with 39 girls and 26 volunteers from the company who participated as mentors guiding the teams throughout the four months of preparation for the competition.

The regional finals have also left us with two winning teams and very good feelings as well as a beautiful experience:

In Madrid, a total of 850 girls, 400 mentors, and 200 judges participated in a day full of surprises organised by the regional embassy ‘Power To Code’.

The Spanish capital had the opportunity to meet Sara García, a scientist and astronaut whose dedication and passion for space exploration inspired everyone present. Sara continues to break down gender barriers and is an example of leadership and excellence in science and technology.

In addition, the girls presented their initiatives to an eager jury and enthusiastically explained at the stand fair how and for what purpose they had developed their projects. Myriam Franco, Yolanda Ramos and Julieta Navarro, colleagues from NTT DATA's Sustainability & ESG area, accompanied the participants at the event and presented some of the prizes to the winners from the region.

You can watch the video summarising the event here.

Meanwhile, in Barcelona, our two representative teams were able to take advantage of the activities prepared by ‘Asociación Espiral’, Technovation's embassy in Catalonia:

Breakfast, dancing and various technology-related workshops at a large-scale event were the proposals for the youth talent day, which the girls were happy to take part in.

Here's a video of the event.

The Valencian Community brought together more than 160 students

who presented their projects, leaving us with two winning teams at NTT DATA.

The team ‘Código Élite’, from Alicante, and the Valencian team ‘4Girls4ever’ won silver and bronze respectively for their mobile apps, Bullying Shield, designed to help victims of bullying in difficult situations, and ‘CleanAPP’, which also won a place in the world semi-finals, as we've already said (see in this video, minutes 0:23 and 0:40).

Although this year there was no representation from the Murcia team, the company maintained its commitment to promoting STEAM vocations from an early stage, supporting the continuation of the competition in the south-east through the regional ‘STEM Talent’ embassy and taking part in the awards ceremony for the Murcia winners. Here is the video of the event.

The global semi-final, a Technovation Global virtual event, will take place on 9 July and will determine 5 finalists per category and region (beginner, junior, and senior). If any of our three semi-finalist teams ‘4 Girls 4 Ever’, EcoLogic Girls' or “Maite Zaccheo”, successfully advance to the global final in August and emerge victorious, they will be invited to the World Summit in San Francisco, where the final project presentation will take place. Information on the semi-finalist teams

From the Sustainability & ESG area, we would like to highlight that each of our girls is already a winner for having reached this final stage in such a demanding competition in terms of results and that requires a high level of perseverance and dedication. We would also like to express our most sincere thanks to all the parents, mentors, judges, judges, volunteers and volunteers for having made this unforgettable experience possible once again this year. And, especially, we want to thank all the girls: without your enthusiasm, ingenuity, and enthusiasm, none of this would be possible!

We encourage all of you to participate in the next edition of 2025 and become part of the NTT DATA Technovation Girls family!
